Safety Compliance Manager

California Drywall is currently seeking a Safety (EH&S) Compliance Manager. The Compliance Manager works to ensure the company is compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety guidelines and regulations. In addition, the EH&S Manager coordinates and schedules safety training for field personnel, assists in the company’s return to work program, serves as the liaison with our insurance carrier for the claims management process of injured employees and oversees the safety orientation programming during the onboarding of field employees.  Successful candidates will exemplify safety as a value.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee new hire safety orientation program for field employees.
  • Coordinate, schedule OSHA 30 certification, CPR and First Aid, Fall Protection, and other safety training.
  • Update, maintain and manage safety and training records and certifications for company employees.
  • Manage and coordinate substance abuse testing and set up medical clinics for new jobsites
  • Serves as the liaison (working with our insurance carrier) for the entire claims management process of all injuries (case management, and recordkeeping) at California Drywall from the initial reporting and medical interface to case closure.
  • Facilitate California Drywall’s “return to work program” with employees, medical professionals, and project personnel.
  • Maintain OSHA records and required reporting, including OSHA 300, 300A logs and Yearly Posting.
  • Monitor Federal, State, and Local occupational/industrial safety and health regulations and regulatory changes as they occur; provide support to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Review all safety related information in project contracts to ensure compliance with customer safety policies.
  • Work with Safety Team to maintain comprehensive accepted Job Hazard Analysis program
  • Assist in updating and maintaining all forms of California Drywall’s safety programs (written, electronic and/or verbal).
  • Compile site safety documentation (including near-miss, incidents, injuries etc.) provide weekly updates in safety meeting.
  • Facilitate safety meetings and required weekly tailgate safety meetings, including providing foreman with safety topics and materials for their “tool box” site meetings.
  • Create and compile materials for safety meetings, including agendas.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 3-6 years related experience and/or training; or a combination equivalent.
  • OHSA 30-hour
  • Understanding of OSHA, state, federal, and local regulations, and client requirements
  • Ability to train and influence all levels of the organization in key company safety training programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications (verbal and written) skills.
  • Proficient with computer, iPad, smart phone, software programs, and other technologies.
  • Must set standards of excellence in leadership and safety.

Preferred

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • CPR/First Aid Trainer certification
  • OSHA 500, 502, and/or 510
  • Advanced training in safety management
